Society itself was founded on the idea of gardening as a means to sustain a population of people who wanted to come together as a community. Many things have changed since mankind began to move away from traditional hunting and gathering, but fundamentally many things are the same. Different cultures have developed different techniques to maximize harvests for their regions, and different crops are indigenous to different areas as well. Today, we have access to heirloom seeds from around the world, as well as hybrid’s available that have been bred to adapt to the conditions in which we live.
